Warning: This post will be less informational than the average blog post.
I recently started Kilofeet primarily to help small software businesses that lack some product/marketing experience. Why? There are many decisions/tradeoffs that companies have to make.
Moving fast is a small companies biggest advantages. When Alpine Software Group purchased Transcendent; they brought in new blood, but bolstered it with a network of experienced & successful operators. I remember one of the most impactful things I heard:
Few mistakes are permanent.
Few mistakes are permanent. It was with this light that I recently started helping saasrock.com. Alexandro is an absolute workhorse who was splitting his time between a number of admin frameworks. We started talking about his goals & desires and we mapped out a better solution.
Fast forward 3 months and saasrock has “pre-launched.” A few weeks later there is a small discord community and almost $3k MRR.
How Kilofeet helped?
- Market research
- Mapped out competitors and competitive differentiators
- Guided marketing
- Pushed for speed
A lot of the value has been primarily (and repeatedly saying) – it’s ok to make mistakes. We know that he can AND SHOULD make mistakes. We’re comfortable they are not permanent mistakes because we spent our time mapping out a rough roadmap. Even the mistakes should be directionally correct.
Embedded on discord
Most of our conversations are private. However, I did post one example of a quick “todo list” publicly in the saasrock discord as inspiration for the community:
Experience On-Demand: ✅
The “embedded” executive solution saasrock utilizes is equivalent to the middle tier of the pre-formed packages available here.
Tweak: Alexandro and I chat via discord daily, but instead of 2 2-hour calls we talk weekly for about an hour.
